CHAPTER 4
I got up and got the kids fed and dressed. Nico was gone all damn day long, around five in the evening I began to worry about him and what he had done. I started to feel some remorse for what I had him do, but it had to be done. I would be damned if anyone ruined us and would take anyone out who tried to interfere.
I was feeding the kids dinner when my phone rang, I looked at the screen and saw that it was Nico. “Hello?” I asked. “Hey Baby Girl, it’s me Nico” he said in a cool tone. “Hi baby. Where are you?” I said standing up and walking out of the kitchen.
“I’m outside. Look…where are the kids?” he asked. “They are in the kitchen eating dinner. Why?” I asked. I began to get nervous. Why was he asking where the kids were? Were we going to have to leave again?
“I need you to keep them in there while I come in the house” he replied. “Why? What happened? What’s going on?” I asked.
“I can’t talk about it right now. Just make sure they stay in the kitchen until I get upstairs” he said hanging up. I went back into the kitchen and sat down. A minute or so later I heard the front door open and I heard Nico walk up the stairs. Not even two minutes later I heard the shower turn on. I knew that something happened and that Nico was trying to get rid of evidence.
After I put the kids to sleep, I walked into the bedroom and saw him laying there in some sweats with no shirt on. He was looking at something on television. I walked up to the bed and sat down on his side. “Nico, is everything okay?” I asked.
“Yeah. Our little problem is gone” he said looking at me. “What do you mean gone? He was supposed to be gone, but he wasn’t. How can you be sure that he won’t come back?” I asked.
“He won’t come back” he said looking at me.
“How can you be so sure?” I asked.
“I killed him” Nico replied.
“You killed him the last time or so we thought. How can you be so sure he is dead this time?” I asked.
“Because I killed him. I shot him in the head. I stayed there until he stopped breathing. I had a guy that I know make sure that he was dead” he said staring at me. I looked at my husband. I was staring into the eyes of a cold blooded killer.
“How did he do that?” I asked. “Look, the less you know the better. Trust me. Smoke is dead. They won’t be able to find his body” Nico said. I just stared at him before leaning forward and hugging him. I loved my husband to death. Once again, he killed for me, that proved the ultimate love for me. “Thank you Nico” I said. I felt his arms wrap around me.
